November 6, 2001 Kara's Story Here is my story... The worst day of my entire life was January 6, 2000. I was 38 weeks and 5 days pregnant. I woke up and got ready for my scheduled doctors appt. at Camp Lejeune Naval Hospital. Everything with me was fine but when the doctor went to hear the baby's heartbeat, there wasn't one. They then did an ultrasound and it confirmed my worst nightmare, my child had died. My husband and I then went home and called my family and told them what had happened. I then went back to the hospital so I could give birth. My labor lasted 5 hours and 56 min. and was all natural. When the head came out we found out the reason for his death. The umbilical cord was wrapped around his little neck twice. At 6:56 pm I gave birth to the most beautiful angel I had ever saw, my son Tristan Peter Flagg. My husband and I both held him for hours and took pictures. His spirit lives on in my heart and mind. And still almost 2 yrs later not a day goes by that I do not think of him. Thank you for letting me tell my story. Sincerely Kara Flagg |
